OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - More than 1.2 million Oklahomans have now received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, according to federal Centers for Disease Control data on Saturday.
The data showed 19.9% of Oklahomans have been given at least one dose to rank 10th in the nation, according to the CDC and that more than 477,000 of the 1.2 million vaccinated in the state have received two doses of the vaccine.
There were a reported 978 new virus cases for a total of 428,536 since the state’s first case was reported one year ago, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The health department reports at least 7,202 people have died due to COVID-19, the illness caused by the virus.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases in the state has declined during the past two weeks from 932per day on to 647.8 while the average of deaths has increased from 24.7 daily to 30.5, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
