Kayleigh McEnany, former White House press secretary, will co-host the Fox News program “Outnumbered” starting next week, the cable TV network announced Tuesday.
Fox News said Ms. McEnany, who joined the network as an on-air contributor this month, will co-host “Outnumbered” with its current presenters, Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno, starting April 6.
“I am thrilled to join the incredible women of Outnumbered and look forward to working alongside the talented Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno as we discuss the top issues impacting the country,” Ms. McEnany said in a statement.
Ms. McEnany, 32, previously served as a producer on the now-defunct Fox News program “Huckabee” before working as a paid commentator for rival cable network CNN during the 2016 presidential election.
The Republican National Committee named Ms. McEnany as its national spokesperson in August 2017 and later former President Donald Trump appointed her as the press secretary of his 2020 reelection campaign.
Ms. McEnany subsequently replaced Stephanie Grisham as White House press secretary in April 2020, until the Trump administration ended in January.
Jen Psaki is the current White House press secretary under President Biden.
Fox News announced on March 2 that Ms. McEnany was returning to the network. Ms. Faulkner, the co-host of “Outnumbered” since its start, said then that viewers would see “much more of her in the future.”
“Kayleigh’s unique background in politics and law coupled with her experiences confronting women’s health challenges and life as a new mom will add robust insight to Outnumbered — we are delighted to welcome her back to FOX News where she began her media career,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement.
“Outnumbered” has aired on Fox News during the afternoon since 2014. The network said Nielsen Media Research considers the show to be the most-watched cable news program in its timeslot currently.
