PLYMOUTH, N.H. (AP) - Plymouth State University is getting ready to mark its 150th anniversary.
A sesquicentennial celebration online on Monday will feature a Founders Day proclamation by Gov. Chris Sununu with tributes from New Hampshire Senate President Chuck Morse and state Rep. Matt Wilhelm, both alumni of the school.
A time capsule presented by Avery Jones, student body president, will be opened in 2046.
The school opened on March 15, 1871, as the New Hampshire State Normal School. It became Plymouth Teachers College in 1913, Plymouth State College in 1963 and Plymouth State University in 2003.
