CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The city of Charleston, West Virginia will open an overnight warming center on Friday for people needing shelter from frigid temperatures.
The city announced it is collaborating with the United Way of Central West Virginia and Kanawha Valley Collective for the center. It will be at the Salvation Army at 301 Tennessee Avenue in the city. The center will be open from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service forecasts that temperatures on Friday will be at a high of near 29, dipping to a low of around 14 in the evening.
