NORTH LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 4-year-old boy removed from a burning North Las Vegas home was pronounced dead at a hospital, authorities said.

According to the Fire Department, crews heading to the home Tuesday night were told a young child was still inside. Firefighters searched the home and found the boy who was immediately taken to a hospital, the department said.

A young girl who didn’t need to be rescued from the home was in stable condition with unspecified injuries, the department said in a statement.

The girl’s age wasn’t available and no identities were released.

Fire officials and police detectives were investigating the cause of the fire, the department said.
