Saturday is cutdown day in the NFL and the Washington Football Team has already made a flurry of moves.

The team released safety Sean Davis after signing him just months earlier, eating $2 million guaranteed to part ways. Davis, 26, couldn’t beat out third-year safety Troy Apke for a starting spot and with Deshazor Everett and rookie Kamren Curl looking good in camp, Washington decided to move on.

Washington also plans to place linebacker Reuben Foster on injured reserve — ending his season. More than a year removed from a horrific knee injury, Foster has struggled to regain the form that made him an intriguing prospect coming out of the 2017 draft. Foster, who Washington acquired in 2018 off waivers following a domestic violence arrest, worked with the third-team throughout camp.



By placing him on IR now, Foster will be out for the remainder of the season.
