Journeyman quarterback Chase Daniel entered for the Lions in the fourth quarter after Matthew Stafford departed following a big hit.
Stafford is being evaluated for a concussion, Detroit announced. He appeared to take a knee to the head as he was sacked by Armon Watts and Eric Wilson of the Vikings. Stafford had been exposed to someone with the coronavirus, and while he didn’t test positive himself, he missed practices throughout the week as he self-isolated.
Stafford had an unproductive day before his injury, completing 23 of his 32 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Minnesota held a large lead when Stafford departed.
And once Daniel took over, he threw an interception on his third passing attempt. But he returned with a late touchdown pass to tight end T.J. Hockenson.
