Fox News swept the ratings during its coverage of the presidential election, drawing 14 million viewers, topping its cable news rivals as well as the “Big Three” networks.
The Fox News total was the largest election night audience “in cable news history,” the network said.
CNN came closest with 9 million viewers according to early numbers from Nielsen Media Research, followed by MSNBC with 7.3 million, ABC (6 million), NBC (5.6 million) and CBS (4.3 million).
Meanwhile, Fox News Digital also scored big, drawing 3 million concurrent users — and ultimately 11.8 million live-streams of their election content. That’s an increase of 1,539% compared to its normal audience demand in that time period.
On social media, Fox News content drove 6.3 million election-rated interactions, according to Social Bakers, an industry source.
