How can a player make up for a fumble?

Break away for a 98-yard touchdown run later in the game.

That’s what Ronald Jones did for the Buccaneers on Sunday, receiving a handoff with his team backed up to its own end zone. He found a hole, then hit the jets, outrunning the rest of the Panthers defense for his longest career rush.

Early in the game, Jones had fumbled on Tampa Bay’s own 33-yard line, setting up Teddy Bridgewater in good field position. Bridgewater got Carolina on the board with a 7-yard touchdown pass after converting a fourth-down three plays earlier.

Still, Jones made up for it in a big way.

His score in the third quarter became the longest touchdown run in Tampa Bay’s history. He’s just the fourth player in NFL history to run for a 98-yard or longer touchdown, too. Add in a stable of receivers and quarterback Tom Brady and that Buccaneers offense looks imposing.
