CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Republican Del. Jordan Hill is resigning to take a job outside of his legislative district, officials said Tuesday.

The Nicholas County lawmaker said he has accepted a position with the city of Bridgeport and must relocate there. His resignation is effective as of May 28.

Hill is the chairman of the House of Delegates committee on health and human resources. He has served in the state legislature for more than five years.

Republican Gov. Jim Justice will appoint a replacement from a list of three names offered up by the Republican executive committee in Hill’s district.
