RIVER FALLS, Wis. (AP) - University of Wisconsin-River Falls Chancellor Dean Van Galen has been chosen as the new president of Missouri Southern State University, the two schools announced Monday.
Van Galen will begin his new job on July 1. He will replace MSSU President Alan Marble, who announced last year he plans to retire in June 30.
Van Galen has served as chancellor at UW-River Falls for 11 years. He helped open a learning center for adult undergraduate and graduate students in Hudson in 2010 and helped implement the university’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign, dubbed Rising to Distinction, in 2012. The campaign raised $20 million in less than four years.
