JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A police officer in Jackson, Mississippi, has been arrested on a charge of exploitation of a minor.

The Jackson Police Department said in a statement Monday that the officer is one of its patrolmen. The officer has been put on administrative leave while the case is investigated.

The department did not release the officer’s name, and it said details would not be released because the case involves a minor.

The department said said evidence will be given to the district attorney.
