JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A man was killed in an early morning apartment fire on Friday, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Firefighters responded to a call at 1:30 a.m. at the Heritage Apartments. They quickly extinguished the fire in one of the units and found the victim inside, officials said.
The 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he later died, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators don’t suspect foul play. All of the damage was limited to one apartment.
The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
No additional details were immediately available.
