NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - The deaths of a New Jersey mother and her 6-year-old daughter are considered suspicious and are believed to have been due to gunshot wounds, authorities said Tuesday.
A relative found Sushmiba Bardhan, 36, of West Orange and the girl Sunday in their Suzan Court apartment, the Essex County prosecutor’s office said. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutors said a preliminary investigation indicates that both sustained fatal gunshot injuries, but there is no danger to the community. No further information was immediately released.
