SCHRIEVER, La. (AP) - Students in an associate degree program in nursing at a south Louisiana technical college can now transfer credit hours earned while completing that work toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Loyola University in New Orleans.

A Loyola news release says the agreement was signed Monday by Loyola President Tania Tetlow and Kristine Strickland, chancellor of Fletcher Technical Community College in Terrebonne Parish.

Fletcher Technical is part of Louisiana’s public community college system. Loyola is a private, Jesuit university.

“At a moment when nursing has never mattered more, Fletcher and Loyola together will create wider pipelines for nurses seeking to advance their healthcare careers and continue Loyola’s 100-year legacy of providing increased access to higher education within our community,” Tetlow said in the news release.
