WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida judge had a defendant removed from the courtroom after he reportedly causing multiple disruptions during his sentencing hearing.
Jabari Blye, 24, was sentenced to 35 years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder in the 2018 fatal shooting of Raequan Haywood, 18, The Palm Beach Post reported.
“Might as well get me out of here,” Blye said as family and friends pleaded with him inside the West Palm Beach courtroom. Circuit Judge Cheryl Caracuzzo had deputies remove him until he calmed down.
West Palm Beach police said Blye had argued with a woman at a home in Sept. 2018. Witnesses said he shot into the windshield of a car the woman had gotten into with three other people after the fight. Haywood was wounded and then taken to a hospital where he later died.
