PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police are seeking the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Portland Wednesday night.

KOIN reports that a pedestrian was walking in a bike lane in Northeast Portland when a car drove past, possibly a sedan or small SUV, and struck them.

The impact sent the victim about 200 feet to the east of where the collision occurred. When police arrived the driver was not at the scene.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to the hospital, where they were immediately taken into emergency surgery. Early Thursday morning, they succumbed to their injuries.
