Washington running back Derrius Guice was arrested Friday on domestic violence-related charges, including a felony charge of strangulation.
The 23-year-old is facing five total charges: three counts of assault and battery, one count of destruction of property and a felony charge of strangulation. The Washington Post reported Guice has hired prominent attorney Peter D. Greenspun to defend him.
Guice turned himself in at the Loudoun Adult Detention Center around 5 p.m., the Post reported.
Since drafted in 2018, Guice has dealt with a myriad of injuries, including two season-ending knee injuries. He appeared in five games last season, landing on injured reserve in December with a sprained MCL. He tweeted last week that he was cleared for football activity.
