Dez Bryant hasn’t played a down of football since 2017, but the former Dallas Cowboys receiver still appears to be determined to resume his career.
Bryant is expected to work out for the Baltimore Ravens this week, according to multiple reports.
A three-time Pro Bowler whose signature move involved “throwing up the X” after scoring touchdowns, Bryant caught 531 passes for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns during his career with the Cowboys.
The 31-year-old was released in April 2018, going unemployed until he signed with the New Orleans Saints that November. Just two days into his time with the Saints, Bryant tore his Achilles tendon and has been out of the league since.
NFL insider Josina Anderson was the first to report the Ravens’ interest in Bryant.
Baltimore would be an intriguing fit for the receiver, given Bryant, if signed, would be paired with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson. The Ravens had added to the position in recent years, drafting third-rounder Devin Duvernay and sixth-rounder James Proche this offseason. Baltimore also used a first-round and a third-round pick to draft Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin, respectively, in 2019.
The NFL Network reported Bryant is now healthy following his 2018 injury.
