CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - An autopsy shows that a man in a confrontation with police died from a gunshot wound to the neck and that the manner of death is a homicide, the New Hampshire attorney general’s office said Tuesday.

Carl Manning, 62, of Manchester, died in the officer-involved shooting on Sunday, Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting in Manchester remain under investigation, he said.

Manning was a suspect in a suspicious fire at a house earlier Sunday, MacDonald said. Police approaching his truck saw him inside the vehicle and he appeared to be armed, the attorney general’s office said. He died a short time later.
