CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The recently retired president of Manchester Community College will serve as interim chancellor of New Hampshire’s community college system after its current leader departs to become a college president.

Susan Huard, who retired in December, will succeed Ross Gittell, an economist who last month was named president of Bryant University in Rhode Island. Gittell has been chancellor of the Community College System of New Hampshire since 2012.

The system’s board of trustees also named Brian Bicknell president of Manchester Community College, effective immediately.

This story has been corrected to show the name of the departing chancellor of the Community College System of New Hampshire is Ross Gittell, not Russ Gittell.
