CLEARFIELD, Utah (AP) - An Ogden man has been accused of sexually assaulting three women in Clearfield nearly two decades ago.

Clearfield police say 69-year-old Mark Douglas Burns was arrested Wednesday after an investigation using familial matching DNA samples.

The Standard-Examiner reports the Davis County Attorney’s Office has filed 17 first-degree felony charges against Burns.

The newspaper says Burns is facing eight counts of aggravated sexual abuse, six counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated burglary and one count of aggravated robbery.

It was unclear Wednesday if Burns has a lawyer yet.

A police probable cause statement says a man broke into a Clearfield house and raped a woman in July 2000.

Ten months later, police say a man broke into another home and sexually assaulted a woman and her 19-year-old daughter.
