HOUSTON — Both of Jeff Adams’ hands were occupied. With a home run ball flying toward him, his instinctual decision earned him a surprise gift.
Adams, a Washington Nationals fan who let a home run hit him in the chest Sunday so he could save the two beers he was holding, was located by Bud Light’s marketing team and awarded a trip to Houston for Game 6 of the World Series.
Adams’ moment in Game 5 at Nationals Park was captured on video and Bud Light’s Twitter account put out a call:
This man is a hero. Twitter please figure out who this guy is so we can reward him. #WorldSeries pic.twitter.com/suMtVECfXY

In addition to covering all expenses for the trip, Bud Light gave Adams a custom shirt to wear that says, “Always Save the Beers.”
Update: We are in contact with our hero. He’s wearing this beauty to Game 6. pic.twitter.com/CobFG9q8kC

Adams told The Washington Post that he wasn’t hurt by the home run ball other than receiving a bruise.
