RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia State University has reinstated its marching band after an investigation into allegations of hazing.

News sources report university spokeswoman Pamela Tolson said the school’s investigation determined that members of a campus social group conducted what school leaders called “activities in violation of the University’s Anti-Hazing policy.”

Tolson said last week that some of the hazing allegations were substantiated but did not elaborate on what the allegations were.

The group, named Drum Phi, has been placed on suspension for a minimum of three years. The school says members of the group who participated in hazing have been disciplined under the university’s Student Code of Conduct.

Based on the findings, the school says the Trojan Explosion Marching Band has been reinstated and can resume performing.
