PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a fuel tanker driver who was critically injured after the truck exploded in Phoenix has died.

Phoenix police say there’s no suspicion of foul play in the death of 40-year-old Miguel Ramirez, but the cause of the explosion is under investigation.

Phoenix Fire Department authorities say crews responded to a vehicle fire on Tuesday.

Authorities say Ramirez was filling his diesel gas tanker when the explosion occurred around 7:15 a.m.

Ramirez suffered severe burns- especially to his head and face - and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Hazmat crews worked to contain the fuel spill and monitor the area and a second tanker was sent to the location to siphon the remaining fuel from Ramirez’s truck.
