Trey Parker, Matt Stone enter transgender athlete debate with 'South Park' episode 'Board Girls'

The creators of “South Park” continued their tradition this week of sparing no one from comedic barbs with an episode on transgender athletes.

An episode titled “Board Girls” featured a transgender athlete named Heather Swanson.

A Strongwoman Competition prompts the athlete, inspired by deceased wrestler Randy “Macho Man” Savage, to sign up.

“I can’t tell you how free I feel now that I’ve started identifying as a woman,” the character says. “Now that I can compete as female, I’m ready to smash the other girls! … I am the strongest woman this state has ever seen!”

“Good luck, Heather,” another athlete sheepishly replies.

A montage then shows the transgender athlete dominating contestants at boxing, weightlifting and a host of other events.

“South Park,” now in its 23rd season, has also captured national headlines this year by skewering Hollywood and NBA professionals for placating China on free speech issues.

Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker told The Hollywood Reporter in September that it was important for writers to find material “outside of f—g Donald Trump.”

“There is still funny s— as the world goes on,” Mr. Parker said for a Sept. 12 interview. “And you can get your Trump comedy on so many other shows.”
