BANGOR, Maine (AP) - The head of a company that maintains more than 800,000 acres of timberland in Maine is retiring after more than 40 years with the company.
John McNulty is president and chief executive officer of Seven Islands Land Company, which manages the timberland for the Pingree family. A spokesman for the company says McNulty will retire on Aug. 2.
McNulty became CEO of the company more than 11 years ago after serving as its vice president of woodlands. Seven Islands describes itself as a forest management company that was formed in 1964 to serve as the steward of the Pingree forest. It includes a family of businesses that handle land management, hardwood lumber production, road construction and other issues.
Pingree family spokesman Alex Ingraham says McNulty has been “an instrumental part of our family history.”
