LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Lincoln police say they’ve arrested a man suspected of intentionally hitting a police officer with his car.

The Lincoln Journal Star says the incident happened early Sunday morning, when officers were sent to investigate a suspicious vehicle. Police say as one officer approached the car to speak to the driver, it accelerated out of the parking lot and swerved at another officer. That office tried to jump out of the car’s path, but still saw her hand and elbow hit. The car was later found abandoned after crashing into an electrical box.

Police say they were able to track down the 36-year-old suspect and arrest him Tuesday.
