LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Clark County Fire Department rescued an injured construction worker from the top of the Resorts World construction site on the Las Vegas Strip.

The department says firefighters were called to the construction site just before 1 p.m. Monday.

Personnel ascended to the 59th floor to retrieve the worker, who was not identified. The worker and the firefighter were lowered to the ground by a crane.

Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan says the injured worker was secured to a specialized backboard.

The construction worker was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
