DETROIT (AP) - Rickea Jackson has been named Michigan’s Miss Basketball.

The Detroit Edison star was given the award Monday, honoring the state’s top senior female basketball player.

Jackson received 2,939 points in the voting, giving her almost 1,000 more points than Saginaw’s Moira Joiner. Julia Ayrault of Grosse Pointe North finished third and Muskegon’s Alyza Winston was fourth in voting.



The 6-foot-3 Jackson is averaging 22.1 points and 8 rebounds this season and is aiming for her third straight state title.

Jackson signed to play at Mississippi State.
