WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - The mayor of Warwick, Rhode Island says he is not willing to give up his car dealer plates from his car dealership business.

Mayor Joseph Solomon is also a lawyer, accountant and licensed car dealer, and says he intends to hold onto his dealer plates and his dealership license even though his company didn’t sell any cars last year. The Providence Journal reports Solomon became acting mayor last year and was elected to the office in November.

He says he is not willing to give up his various businesses, “although I devote 110 percent to my job as mayor of the city.”

Solomon is also a member of a state board that sets the number of plates assigned to each car dealer.
