President Trump responded to the news Thursday that Beto O’Rourke’s is running for president by talking about the Texan’s hands.

“I think he has got a lot of hand movement, I’ve never seen so much hand movement,” Mr. Trump told reporters. “I said, ’Is he crazy or is that just the way he acts?’”

“I’ve never seen anything quite like it,” he said. “Study it, I’m sure you will agree.”

Mr. O’Rourke launched his campaign in an online video and made the first of a series of campaign stops Thursday in Iowa, where the Democratic nomination contest will kick off next year.

Mr. Trump said he welcomes the prospect of running against Mr. O’Rourke in the general election, and said he is confident that voters will reward him with a second term no matter who emerges from the 2020 Democratic nomination race.

“Whoever it is I will take them on,” he said. “Whoever it is it makes no difference to me whatsoever.”
