BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) - A landmark resort in South Florida has been purchased by a New York company affiliated with computer-maker Michael Dell.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports the Boca Raton Resort & Club was sold Tuesday to MSD Partners for almost a half-billion dollars.

The more than 1,000-room hotel and resort was previously owned by The Blackstone Group.



The Sun Sentinel says the total purchase price was nearly $462 million, according to online property sales tracker The Real Deal.

The flamingo-pink resort was designed by famed architect Addison Mizner and built in 1926.

MSD Partners says the resort will continued to be managed by Hilton under the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts brand.

The resort two 18-hole golf courses, a spa, seven swimming pools, 30 tennis courts and a 32-slip marina.
