RENO, Nev. (AP) - Washoe County School District Superintendent Traci Davis says she’s the victim of a “witch hunt.”

The school district announced a week ago that Davis was taking an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons but didn’t release any other details.

Last week, the district released a letter written to Davis that said there was conclusive and substantial evidence that she leaked confidential information related to a lawsuit by a fired employee.

Davis told the Reno Gazette Journal Monday night she didn’t leak any documents and hasn’t done anything wrong. She says the allegations are part of a “vicious attack” intended to destroy her career.

Davis says she plans to vigorously defend herself at a special meeting July 1 the school board has scheduled to consider the allegations of misconduct and the status of her contract.
