MERRICK, N.Y. (AP) - Police say a Long Island high school teaching assistant was fatally stabbed more than 100 times by a man he was dating.
Newsday reports that 21-year-old Ryan Lindquist was arrested Friday in the stabbing death of 32-year-old Evan Grabelsky in Grabelsky’s Merrick home.
Police say the victim’s parents came home from a party and found their son’s body on the landing of the stairs.
Lindquist was scheduled to be arraigned Saturday. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer who can speak for him.
Police say the two men met on a dating app and had known each other about two years.
Grabelsky was a teaching assistant at Great Neck North High School. He also worked as a counselor at Camp Iconic in North Bellmore.
