MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Vermont regulators want the state’s largest utility to describe to its customers all of the changes they may see on their bills in the fall.

Green Mountain Power has proposed increasing rates by nearly 3% in October. But customers will also see an increase because GMP says a tax credit provided to customers will end and two other expenses will be added, all at the same time.

In a letter to GMP this week, the state Public Utility Commission said it was “concerned” customers may not be getting all the details about the increases in a draft notice.

A GMP spokeswoman says the company has reworded the notice.

The story has been corrected to remove the 10% rate increase and reflect that customers would see other increases on their bills.
