JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida police officer was seriously injured in a crash with a fleeing suspect.

The Florida Times-Union reports that the Jacksonville officer was hospitalized Tuesday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says a car with two men inside was speeding with its lights off, and an officer tried to pull them over. The car continued to speed down the street with officers pursuing. Officials say the car was traveling on the wrong side of the road when it hit another officer’s car head-on.

Police say the two men in the car were not injured and were arrested.
