MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - The trial has been postponed for an eastern Indiana mother charged in connection with a vehicle crash that killed her 6-year-old daughter.

The (Muncie) Star Press reports 29-year-old Jessica Marie Skeens of Farmland was to go to trial Monday but instead will have her trial May 13. Authorities say she had alcohol and marijuana before the 2017 accident. Taelyn Ann Marie Woodson was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the girl wasn’t properly restrained. Skeens’ three other children survived.

Skeens faces seven felony charges, including reckless homicide. She is held in the Delaware County jail on $50,000 bond.

Skeens’ boyfriend at the time, 28-year-old Nathaniel Leon Jordan of Anderson, faces six felonies. He’s accused of repeatedly punching Skeens in the face while she drove. He also is to go to trial May 13.
