Larry Fitzgerald isn’t retiring just yet.
The wide receiver will return to the Arizona Cardinals for a 16th season in 2019 on a new one-year deal, the team announced Wednesday. Drafted third overall in 2004, Fitzgerald is one of the best receivers of his generation and is second all-time in career receiving yards.
Fitzgerald returns to a Cardinals team looking to take a leap after finishing the 2018 season with the league’s worst record. Arizona recently hired former Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury to replace Steve Wilks as head coach.
Fitzgerald had 69 catches for 734 yards and six touchdowns in 2018. The 35-year-old has spent his entire career in Arizona.
