Dinan writes:
Senators will get a chance to vote on President Trump’s new immigration compromise — and then will vote on a bill to reopen government without any money for his border wall, under a deal struck by leaders Tuesday.
The votes are slated for Thursday afternoon, and present senators with two options for ending the now month-old government shutdown.
The president’s plan would combine government funding with $5.7 billion in border wall money, as well as a new deportation amnesty for 1 million illegal immigrant “Dreamers” and people here under humanitarian Temporary Protected Status.
He’s said it is a good-faith offer.
