WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - The bond rating for the Rhode Island Airport Corp., the agency that runs T.F. Green Airport, has been raised from BBB+ to A.
The corporation announced Tuesday that Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings also said the outlook is stable and it does not expect to raise the airport’s rating in the next two years.
The Providence Journal reports Standard & Poor’s Financial Services LLC also noted business at T.F. Green consolidated rental car facility is strong and that the forecast of demand for rental cars is stable.
Democratic Gov. Gina Raimondo hailed the announcement, saying the rating is another sign of the continuing improvement of the Rhode Island economy.
The Rhode Island Airport Corp. also runs five smaller state-owned airports.
