CLEVELAND (AP) - Officials in an Ohio county are looking into distributing over $1 million in casino tax revenue toward community development projects.
The Cuyahoga (ky-uh-HOH’-guh) County Council says it will hear legislation on the matter Tuesday through the Community Development Committee. Cleveland.com reports the county has received 52 applications for 2019 community development grants.
The County Council created the grant program for community development projects in 2016.
County Executive Armond Budish’s administration is recommending awards of $50,000 for projects in nearly 20 different municipalities, ranging from parking programs to road repairs. Other proposed projects would provide grants for street and exterior home improvements.
