Former Vice President Joseph R. Biden is slated to headline the Delaware Democratic Party’s largest annual fundraising dinner next month.

Mr. Biden has appeared at a series of public forums in recent weeks as he continues to flirt with a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.

“Joe Biden is synonymous with Delaware, and is the backbone of our Party,” State Party Chairman Erik Raser-Schramm said in a news release. “His legacy of service speaks for itself, and while he ponders the next chapter in that legacy, we are honored to have him here at home.”

The First State Democratic Dinner dinner is scheduled for March 16 at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino.

Mr. Biden represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate from 1973 to 2009, when he left to serve as vice president to Barack Obama.
