HOLLAND, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont town and an area development association say they will be asking regulators to reconsider a decision to allow a developer to change the capacity of a proposed wind turbine.
The Vermont Public Utilities Commission gave permission to Dairy Air Wind in July to enter a standard offer contract with Vermont utilities for a 1.5 megawatt-capacity turbine, rather than the originally proposed 2.2 megawatt turbine.
The Caledonian-Record reports that the town of Holland and the Northeastern Vermont Development Association oppose the decision because they say it would require redoing landscape and environment impact studies around the farm where the turbine would be located.
The developer has to submit plans for the smaller-capacity turbine before the commission will review the application.
