HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Henderson police say an officer shot and wounded a robbery suspect after chasing the suspect from a convenience store Tuesday night.

Lt. Kirk Moore says the wounded suspect was in stable condition at a hospital where he was taken for treatment of an arm wound.

His identity wasn’t released.

Moore said officers responded quickly to the reported robbery in progress, saw the suspect leave the store and that the shooting took place across the street.

Moore said he didn’t know whether the suspect was armed and other information on circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately available.

Moore also said it wasn’t known whether the incident was related to a recent string of holdups under investigation by police.
