RENO, Nev. (AP) - A 24-year-old man accused of a murder in downtown Reno last November has been found competent to stand trial.

KTVN-TV reports Washoe County District Judge David Hardy ruled at a competency hearing Wednesday that prosecutors can go forward with an open murder charge against Bryn Bridges in the killing of 57-year-old Duyet P. Tran.

Tran was found dead Nov. 5 with multiple stab wounds along the downtown Riverwalk near the Truckee River across the street from Reno Justice Court.

Bridges was arrested on unrelated drug charges on Nov. 27. He was booked for open murder on Jan. 2.

He’s being held in the county jail where his bail is set at $1 million.
