LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A long-time editor and TV columnist who was also known for a humor column featuring a cat has died at his home in Little Rock.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the wife of Michael Storey says Storey died in his sleep. Celia Storey says Storey died Sunday. He was 69.
Michael Storey started working at the then-Arkansas Democrat in 1977 as a copy editor. The newspaper became the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 1991.
He became known for a weekly humor column called Otus the Head Cat and wrote about Arkansas’ walking trails, which he turned into a book. Prior to his work at the newspaper, Storey served in the Air Force as a photo-lab technician in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
A cause of death was not released.
