FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Election officials in Washington County says they’ve fixed a mistake that affected some ballots in races for a state representative seat and a justice of the peace position.

The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that one street in Fayetteville, Sinclair Avenue, was placed in the wrong precinct. Washington County Election Commission Director Jennifer Price says 17 voters - out of the 44 registered voters who live on the street - cast ballots before the mistake was discovered.

Price says the glitch was been fixed and the remaining voters will receive the proper ballot at the polls. The 17 voters who already cast ballots will receive a special ballot in the mail with the correct race.

Price says the error was discovered Tuesday night and fixed by Wednesday morning.
