Service scheduled to celebrate life of Nevada’s famous pimp

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A service celebrating the life of Nevada’s most famous pimp is scheduled for Saturday in Carson City.

KTVN-TV reports the event honoring brothel owner Dennis Hof will be held at the Royal Crown Room at Casino Fandango. Seating will be limited.

Dennis Hof died earlier this month at his Love Ranch brothel in Crystal after a weekend of parties celebrating his 72nd birthday.

Authorities have said that no foul play is suspected, and it could take six weeks for a cause of death to be determined.

Hof’s name remains on the ballot for a seat in the state Legislature.

A second service is being planned for southern Nevada sometime next month.
