Former Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan lost his grievance case against the franchise, according to multiple reports.
McCloughan, who was fired in March 2017, sought the remaining $2.8 million on his contract, but an NFL-appointed arbitrator sided with the team. McCloughan is unable to appeal.
The Redskins reportedly fired McCloughan “for cause” after he showed up to work intoxicated.
But McCloughan disputed the claim, filing a grievance against the team in the summer of 2017. McCloughan had spent two seasons with Washington, helping construct teams that finished with winning records.
Since being let go, McCloughan has run an independent scouting service and was a consultant for the Cleveland Browns in this year’s draft.
